When I bought the ECCOs I have now, they were the correct size, but were very tight on the top of my foot and I had to stretch them to wear them. Once they were broken in, they were very comfortable. The soles did start to wear through to the subsole after less than two years, but I am still wearing them and hope to get at least three years out of them. I walk a lot on paved surfaces so this isn’t as bad as it might seem. The soles of the ECCO boots I bought five or six years ago did in fact disintegrate leaving pieces all over the place. It makes me wonder what’s wrong with the management of this company.

Not only the high price for my Ecco boots and shoe`s the soles rip off .I am a disabled US Marine Korean WAr veteran and I bought them because the material was soft and very comfortable but like the soles I got ripped off.I E-MAILED the company but never received a reply!

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. The problem is that I owned it for only two years before the soles began peeling off. The tops were polished and in excellent condition but I couldn’t get them re-soled. This problem is so pervasive it is amazing how this company remains in busness at all. Just for kicks, I just got off their official web site after asking what guarantee they will give that these $200 shoes won’t wear out after a few years like the last pair I’ve had. I don’t expect an answer.
Anyone’s best bet is to go to a New Balance or Nike store and try on any style that appeals to you. I paid $135 for a pair of New Balance cross-trainers two years ago, wear them most of the time and there is only slight wear to the back of the heel. They have leather uppers. Every so often I shoot them with 409, wash the shoe laces and the things look new.
I’m still in the market for a shoe the same style as the Ecco Track II for more formal occasions but I’ll be damned if I pay another exorbitant price for an Ecco shoe that the manufacturer knows to be defective.

These shoes arrived promptly and fit very well. The most comfortable shoe I ever owned. This is my third pair.

My new shoes are in the tradition of the other 2 pairs of the same kind that I have owned. These shoes are very durable and have lasted as long as 10 years of everyday wear. Sure they are expensive but these shoes lasts a long time.
