  1. Good Initial Walking Support, but immediately looks OLD, and becomes WORN OUT.

I expected so much more from New Balance, makers of fine shoes.

Described as a very good walking shoe, providing great arch support and comfortable feel,

unfortunately this shoe immediately looks worn out, right out of the box.

The lining and stitching around the face of the shoe has an “unfinished” look to it,

instead of a dark black border to cover up the linings,

making the shoes look old as soon as you start wearing them.

Seriously, they do not look impressive at all.

But obviously that is not as important as the construction of the shoe,

which will the bottom sole will very soon begin to peel away.

Maybe it’s because I’m a little overweight, maybe it’s because I walked a little too much in them,

but that is the whole point to purchasing a higher end name brand walking shoe.

I bought them a year ago because my job relocation would require me to do a lot more walking,

both outside and inside. In less than a year the bottom of the sole has broken apart and peeling away.

And when that happens, the only thing you can do is prepare to purchase a new pair.

If you have a spare pair close by, you will be safe. But when the sole breaks through with your foot sticking out,

and you are 25 miles from home, without a car, I will soon be in trouble.

Name brand, expensive walking shoes should last at least a few years.

  2. I’ve worn the older model of these shoes for several years. Those and this fine new model share NB’s Rollbar feature that has probably helped me avoid several painful ankle twists. The MW845s are slightly lighter than their ancestors, and seem to be better ventilated…very welcome additions.

  3. The shoes are true to size and are comfortable. HOWEVER New Balance needs to do something about their insoles. I resent the heck out of paying big bucks for a shoe and then having to buy someone else’s insole.

  4. I am 245 pounds and this shoe makes me feel like a feather! I can actaully walk with them without my orthodics. I would buy this shoe again. Very comfortable and pleasant. Amazon has one of the better prices.

  5. Probably the most comfortable New Balance I have ever worn. I work in a school cafeteria and needed a non slip shoe that I could wear all day. I researched shoes until I was tired and this was my decision. I wear them everyday and they are so comfortable and I had to have the non slip. Love them! Love them! Love them !! Durable and comfortable and you wont be sorry.
