The shoes I ordered for my husband were exactly like the ones he had recently worn out. The picture beside this review shows what I ordered. The shoes we received were a totally different style, more like huraches than loafers. Fortunately he likes them nearly as well as the ones I thought I had ordered. The Sperry Top-Siders are great shoes.

I have been wearing boat shoes since high school. My last pair were worn out by nearly ten years of use and I needed a new pair. I was “just looking” while at Nordstrams and they had the gold cup version of the sperry boat shoe I have worn over the years. This is the most comfortable boat shoe I have ever worn. The sole is good and the inside feels great against foot. I have a wide foot so it I want a good fit I have to fit a wide sized shoe. The deerskin leather inside and memory foam really make this a comfortable shoe for my sockless boat shoe wearing feet.

These are generally comfortable shoes but, unfortunately, they simply do not hold up under normal wear. The inner lining and collar had large holes worn into it within 9 months of purchase, with foam pushing out through the holes in the collar. Also, the insoles have a tendency to adhere to your feet — quite uncomfortable — when worn without socks. For the price, they simply are not worth the cost, not for half the price, for that matter. Apparently, long gone is the day when Sperry’s shoes could be counted on for their quality and durability, and since their warranty only covers “manufacturing defects”, and the problem with these is poorly chosen materials, you will not get any satisfaction by attempting to return them.

I brought a pair of these shoes while in the States three years ago. They are simply the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The memory cushion inner provides support and impact resistance either with or without socks.After three years of constant wear during evenings and week ends both on and off boats the only sign of wear was to the inner lining. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have purchased Sperry Top-Sider Deck Shoes for over 40 years and these are the best deck shoes I have owned. They are extremely confortable and the first time I wore them my foot molded to the shoe. It was not necessary for a break-in period like most shoes.
