Very disappointed to discover the boots are now made in China, his last pair were made in Italy. Still thinking about returning them, worried about the quality.

The delivery of these boots was fast. However, they were for my husband and he decided to return them. I cannot speak to the quality of the boot. The return was easy.

This was going to be my third generation of Vasque Sundowners. The first 2 brought me over the Himalayas twice, across the Beartooth and through the jungles of Laos.
What was sent this time resembled my previous boots in name only. I could tell the moment I opened the box that Vasque has given up completely on making quality boots. They were the worst shoes of any kind I have ever had the displeasure of putting on my feet. The leather was of completely inferior quality. The fit was horrible with space where there should be none, and tight everywhere else. I am only grateful to the excellent return policy of Amazon…

The first pair of these boots I bought some years back were hands down the best boots I had ever owned. When the soles wore out and bought two more pair of what I thought were the same boot. But, unfortunately this boot is made differently now and are not even close to the boot it used to be. The do not fit nearly as well, and the laces come untied very often for some reason.

I purchased these boots because my other pair of Sundowners were starting to show some wear after about 15 years. The old ones still have lots of life in them but they have been so good, I wanted to be sure I had some new ones too. In the time I have had my old boots, I have worn out several pairs of “regular” boots. These boots are built to last.
