These Merrel shoes are very comfortable. However I must say that appearance is 3/4 of the sale and when I opened the Amazon box these shoes were in a crushed box indicating to me that they were returned and then sent out to the next unlucky customer who hapenned to be me. The shoes had lint all over the suede and a mark on the sole. Crushed box, mark on sole, lint on suede. For this I am giving three stars. I will consider heavily the next time I purchase shoes from an online vendor.

Need to return them as they are too hard for my 2.5 year old to get on and not enough toe room when we did manage to get them on.

Inside of the shoe is very comfortable. Heel design is not so great – more personal preference. Red strip on the back stands out too much.

I usually stick to stride rite for shoes for my kids. However, I bought these for my 5 year old since I had heard so much about the brand and found them on sale. They look great and he has no problem putting them on. The arch seems well built and the shoe well constructed but it simply does not seem to hold his foot well. He doesn’t seem to run comfortably in them and has complained about them making his toes hurt. The size is correct and he has the corret extra room so I can only think that the shoe is defective. I’m buying him a pair of Stride Rite’s from Amazon today.
