Nice, versatile black boot. Great with jeans or skirts/dresses. As with other Steve Madden styles I’ve tried, these boots accommodate a slightly larger calf than many without looking bulky. They can be hard to get on at first, but as the ankle/instep stretches out, they go on easier (a benefit of good quality leather). Also, sole is very stiff with little padding so can become uncomfortable after many hours on your feet. Overall, though, very pleased!

This boot is definitely not true to size. I’m always a size 7 in shoes, and I couldn’t even get my foot past the ankle of the boot (on the right shoe, at least). I was able to eventually get the left on one. Other than that, it was beautiful and looked well-made. I just don’t even know how many sizes I should order up in order to fit this.
Update: Okay, I tried a 1/2 size up (7 1/2), and I still can’t get my foot through the ankle part. I gave up, and am returning these for good.
